Kenny Omega is the most exciting free agent in recent memory in the professional wrestling business. In case you missed it, Omega’s contract with NJPW has expired and he’s officially up for grabs. It seems hard to believe that Kenny will be leaving New Japan Pro Wrestling for “greener pastures” in the foreseeable future; especially with a WrestleMania Weekends how at Madison Square Garden happening.

Omega has been the backbone of the United States expansion that NJPW has been striving for. But what else is there for him to do in New Japan? I can’t think of anything. He’s literally done it all and exceeded EVERY EXPECTATION that anyone has ever had for him.

Most of us can agree that it will be exciting to see Omega wrestle for a different promotion; outside of the NJPW & ROH working agreement. While a decision of this magnitude shouldn’t be taken lightly, it’s probably an easy one because of the relationships that Omega has formed for years.

Kenny Omega is in the absolute prime of his career. There are millions of dollars being throw in his direction from multiple wrestling companies. There aren’t many examples of this kind of scramble for a specific wrestler in the history of the business.

We need to face facts here: Kenny comes off like the type of guy that puts the happiness of himself & those close to him before anything else.

When analyzing the options for Kenny Omega in Free Agency, there’s really only one logical answer…and it’s the place that we all expect: ALL ELITE WRESTLING.

WWE would be the “mainstream” option for Omega at this stage of his life. There’s massive opportunity to build a huge legacy under the bright lights of WrestleMania.

But I just don’t see how the eccentric Omega, who is one of the most creative wrestlers on the planet, would fit into that corporate structure right now. The timing is just awful for WWE here. We see the current dismay from contracted WWE wrestlers, with more stories of frustration being released weekly! I can’t remember a time in WWE history where so many wrestlers have been rumored to be “disgruntled” at the same time.

Do you really think Kenny wants any part of that? Is there a dollar amount that would allow WWE to control his career? Dave Meltzer has already confirmed that Omega turned down a large WWE contract that may have included a six month opt-out clause.

Don’t get me wrong here. We are all clamoring for Omega to clash with the likes of Seth Rollins, Daniel Bryan, and other WWE/NXT stars…the list is long & subjective. But at the end of the day, happiness is really what matters in life.

I don’t think there was really much of an option here. All Elite Wrestling is a brand new venture. A venture that he helped create!

KENNY OMEGA IS THE ELITE! After years of building this brand with The Young Bucks, why wouldn’t he want to see his hard work come to fruition first hand? This is a no-brainer. Kenny Omega is going to be signing with All Elite Wrestling & I personally expect the announcement soon.

It will more than likely take place at the “Double or Nothing” ticket announcement party that will take place at the Splash Pool at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada at 9 p.m. Eastern time (6 p.m. Pacific) on Thursday, February 7.

We are witnessing history here, ladies & gentlemen. Don’t take it for granted & enjoy the ride.
