What’s in a name?

To some a lot, to others not so much. Ever since their debut on Monday Night Raw during the Superstar Shake-up, a lot has been made about the value of a name.

Former Ring of Honor, and current NXT Tag Team Champions War Mac… I mean War Rai… I mean The Viking Experience debuted. Hanson and RoI mean Erik and Ivar dominated an eight-man tag match that included them pinning one half of the current Raw Tag Team Champions Curt Hawkins

That is what the big story should be. Instead, nanoseconds after their debut, wrestling social media was more fixated on their name change.

Let me ask you this IWC, would it have been better if Hanson and Rowe, War Raiders, lost the match as long as they kept their names? I’m sure most of you would tell me NO

I understand the fear especially with Vince McMahon putting his hands all over NXT callups. But I am going to let this play out. If they destroy Hawkins and Ryderfor the tag team titles by Memorial Day, will it matter what they are called as long as they are positioned well?

Again, I would assume most of you would tell me no. Remember, names can always be changed and tweaked. I don’t recall The Ringmaster, Flex Cabbana, Leake, orKane The Undertaker lasting long. A name can be changed, creative, especially when it comes to debuts, cannot.

Let it play out for more than 12 seconds and then judge it. I know I am.
