Last night after the WWE Draft, the company announced new exclusive announce teams for both Raw and SmackDown.

The teams go as followed: Raw will be announced by Michael Cole as the lead play-by-play commentator, along side Byron Saxton and Corey Graves on color. On Tuesday nights, SmackDown will be led by Mauro Ranallo on play-by-play, along side David Otunga and John “Bradshaw” Layfield on color.

But, one glaring absence is telling, as WWE Hall of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler will no longer be on SmackDown commentary.

Many are wondering what’s next for the King. Well, WWE released the following statement:

“In addition to the commentary booth updates on Raw, SmackDown Live and more, WWE Hall of Famers Booker T and Jerry “The King” Lawler will bring their decades of experience in sports-entertainment to recurring Pre-Shows and Kickoffs as key analysts, among other names still to be announced.”

Don’t worry everyone. Lawler still has a job.
