While details are currently sketchy, it has been revealed by wrestling reporter John Pollock of POST WRESTLING that Triple H returned to the WWE Performance Center and NXT.

  • Triple H has apparently returned to the WWE Performance. When addressed the NXT staff, The Game simply stated, “I’m Back.”

  • It is unknown at the moment what this exactly means, but many are speculating that he is back “in charge” of the operations in NXT.

  • Recently, a reshuffling of management in WWE has taken place with Vince McMahon temporarily stepping away from his role as CEO during The Board of Directors investigation into McMahon’s personal affairs. Stephanie McMahon has moved in as Interim CEO. John Laurinaitis, Head of Talent Relations, has been sent home during this investigation & Bruce Prichard has stepped into his role.

  • Whether or not the temporary (perhaps permanent?) reshuffling of management is part of the reason Triple H returned to The WWE Performance Center is unknown at the moment, but more details on this story are expected to come out soon.

This news couldn’t have come at a better time for the fledgling NXT 2.0 show. Triple H suffered a ‘cardiac event’ towards the end of Summer 2021 and had to step away from his role at The WWE Performance Center & NXT.

The Game underwent a successful heart procedure, which he spoke about at length in an interview with Stephen A. Smith of ESPN. He stated that he was done in the ring and would still be focusing on his role in talent development.

However, NXT had undergone a huge change.

The entire show as flipped upside down. His roster was decimated, his team was fired and his metal-centric, black & yellow marketing for the brand switched to a wacky neon color scheme. Everything that Triple H built was torn to shreds and he was sent packing, with his buddy Shawn Michaels taking over.

At this moment, it’s unknown whether or not Triple H is going to change course with the direction of NXT 2.0, or if things will be more of the same.

Personally, I am HOPEFUL that course is changed and the new, wacky colorful NXT is put to bed and we can return to the gritty NXT that set the professional wrestling world on fire.
