AEW is on fire right now there is no denying that. Dynamite is back on the road, Rampage has debuted and the company has managed to reportedly sign BOTH CM Punk and Bryan Danielson.
With momentum like this, Tony Khan’s next big thing should be a no brainer. It would get him that true cross over talent his company still needs. It could open countless doors; not just ones mandated by Turner.
The mainstream notoriety would be huge for them. It would give AEW the brand that is known I’m not only wrestling circles, but also in sport and pop culture circles today. The name I speak of of course is Br…..
Brie and Nikki Bella.
No Brock Lesnar is not going to AEW but Brie’s husband Bryan Danielson is.
Total Bellas is reportedly done or about to be done at E! And the Bellas despite this years Hall Of Fame induction are not under a deal currently to WWE.
AEW needs that cross over name and appeal. Sure they have had Snoop Dogg and Shaq on Dynamite, but let’s be honest those appearances were handled by Turner. The Bellas would not only give AEW that cross over draw, but also needed addition to a still developing woman’s division. I’m sure Turner would love to add Total Bellas to their line up and Tony Khan would love to have AEW ties to whenever the Bellas would make appearances.
While that all seems amazing there is one reason why AEW would not be able to make this move.
Cody and Brandi Rhodes.
There is no way Cody’s ego would allow for this to happen. He has an upcoming reality show coming to Turner and would not allow himself to be upstaged by true reality stars with true cross over appeal.
While it appears wrestling fans are starting to turn on Cody, it seems Khan is still neck deep in the Cody Kool Aid. It’s a shame because AEW and The Bellas could be huge for the company.
Sadly they are handcuffed as to why they can not make it happen at this time.
