In a story that is still developing, Impact Wrestling Thursday evening announced the following:

“Impact Wrestling confirmed that it has terminated its relationship with Tessa Blanchard and stripped her of the Impact Wrestling World Championship.”

According to a report from PWInsider, Blanchard has been in Mexico since the COVID-19 Pandemic began and has not appeared even in a promo for the company.

She was supposed to send in material for the 6/1 edition of Impact but failed to do so. With a relationship that was described as “Icey”, a contract coming up BEFORE the Slammiversary Pay Per View, one could say the writing was on the wall.

Now with Blanchard’s departure and the suspension of Michael Elgin, one has to assume the main event of the show will be changed to some kind of winner take all match for the Impact World Championship.
