According to a report on WWE.com, former Smackdown Live Commissioner Shane McMahon is currently recovering from acute diverticulitis and an umbilical hernia in a New York hospital.

There is still some uncertainty if the report is real or a storyline piece to further the story with McMahon, Daniel Bryan, Kevin Owens, and Sami Zayn.

The report also states McMahon went to the Caribbean with his family to “rest and recuperate” following his attack by Owens and Zayn 2 weeks ago.

It was there, Shane discovered the massive infection due to acute diverticulitis and was hospitalized for several days in Antigua before being flown back to New York where he is currently being treated.

The doctors in New York have also discovered that Shane suffered an umbilical hernia which will require surgery once the infection has cleared.

There is no word what this does for the rumored McMahon/Bryan-Owens/Zayn Tag team match for WrestleMania.
