UFC President Dana White has announced that the biggest rematch in UFC history is tentatively set to take place at UFC 200 on July 9, 2016 as Ronda Rousey will challenge Holly Holm for the Women’s Bantamweight Championship.

Rousey has stated publicly that if she cannot defeat Holly Holm that it could be her last fight inside The Octagon:

“I guess it’s all going to be determined by what happens in the rematch,” Rousey told ESPN in an exclusive interview. “Everything is going to be determined by that. Either I’ll win and keep going or I won’t and I’ll be done with everything.”

Rousey then continued in the candid interview:

“I got hit in that first round. … I cut my lip open and knocked a couple of my teeth loose. I was out on my feet from the very beginning.”

“I wasn’t thinking clearly. I had that huge cut in my mouth and I just spit [the blood] out at my feet. Then they brought the bucket over and I’m like, ‘Why didn’t I spit it in the bucket?’ I never spit on the ground,” Rousey said.

“It was like a dumbed-down dreamy version of yourself making decisions. I was just trying to shake myself out of it. I kept saying to myself, ‘You’re OK, keep fighting. You’re OK, keep fighting.’ I just feel so embarrassed. How I fought after that is such an embarrassing representation of myself. I wasn’t even f**king there.”

The fight being in July gives UFC an ample amount of time to promote what could be the biggest rematch in the promotion’s history. Although Holm’s camp offered an immediate rematch to Rousey, Holly Holm’s manager, Lenny Fresquez, actually requested to Dana White that Holly fight Miesha Tate in a Women’s Bantamweight Championship fight this Spring. He claims that Holly is used to fighting more frequently & that they’re from the “old school” where fighting more often is commonplace.

Dana White commented sarcastically to the comments of Holm’s manager:

“We’re real concerned with his opinion.”
