This story throws shade at the rumor that Rey was in serious talks with WWE about a return for WrestleMania & was “close” to signing a deal. Click bait and false propaganda leaked to Sports Illustrated by WWE most likely.

Mysterio was quoted in the article stating:

“I think what we are doing with Aro Lucha being fan-owned is revolutionary. We are giving the fans something they have never had before, a voice and a chance to get in on the action.”

CEO of Aro Lucha Jason Brown also announced that Aro Lucha will crowd fund up to $1,000,000. This means that fans can actually own a part of the company. The belief is that wrestling fans will be more emotionally invested to watch the product if they actually have a say in what transpires.

Or if they believe that they have a say.

Additionally, Konnan is the head of the Aro Lucha creative department.
