Despite being advertised to face MVP at Extreme Rules, Apollo Crews has been off TV for the last few weeks.

At the event, it was announced Crews had not been medically cleared to compete due to injuries sustained from a Full Nelson executed by Bobby Lashley.

There were some rumors that Crews has been dealing with a back issue, however that is not the case.

It is now being reported, but not confirmed, by Dave Meltzer that Crews tested positive for COVID-19 at the end of June.

“So Apollo Crews was COVID. People have been suspecting it, and it was.”

WWE had hoped Crews would be cleared in time for last nights show however that was not to be the case.

As of now there is no time table for Crews’ return to television.
