WWE recently announced that New Day is going to be inducting The Fabulous Freebirds into the WWE Hall of Fame on WrestleMania Weekend.
According to Bryan Alvarez of The Wrestling Observer, New Day is in this position because Michael Hayes is a big fan of the group and WWE wants to continue to push them as babyfaces.
WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Von Erich was expected to induct The Freebirds due to the history between The Von Erich’s and The Fabulous Freebirds from WCCW. However, Von Erich is expected to attend the ceremony.
