During tonight’s TNA Impact Wrestling television tapings in Orlando, Florida, Eddie Edwards defeated Bobby Lashley to become the brand new TNA World Heavyweight Champion.
According to those in attendance, Lashley was given the choice between Moose, Ethan Carter III and Eddie Edwards. Lashley chose Edwards, claiming that it would be the “easiest route.”
Edwards had previously competed on Sunday night at TNA Wrestling’s Bound for Glory event, losing to Aron Rex in the match to determine the company’s first-ever Impact Grand Champion. Lashley successfully defended his title against Ethan Carter III in the main event of the show last night.
