Inquisitr.com is reporting that the official cause of death for Mexican wrestling star Perro Aguayo, Jr. has been announced as “a stroke suffered due to cervical spine damage.”
As previously reported, Aguayo, Jr. died Saturday morning as a result of injuries sustained during a tag team match against former WWE Superstar Rey Mysterio last Friday night in Mexico. Aguayo, Jr. took a flying headscissors from Mysterio that sent him out of the ring. Upon re-entering, Aguayo, Jr. was hit with a dropkick to the back of the head from Mysterio, which sent him collapsing against the ropes. Mysterio then attempted the 619, but then abandoned the move after it was noticeable that Aguayo, Jr. was not moving. It also took some time for a doctor to attend to him, as the doctor in attendance was said to be backstage treating two other wrestlers that had been injured earlier in the night.
Inquisitr.com further reports that Aguayo, Jr.’s father, Perro Aguayo, Sr., has still not been informed of the death of his son. This is reportedly due to Aguayo, Sr. being in poor health at this time, with the worry that the news may end up triggering a health emergency for him.
