WWE send out word via their official Twitter account that John Cena underwent successful shoulder surgery today by Dr. James Andrews in Birmingham, Alabama.
WWE did not indicate any specific timetable for Cena’s return, but as noted previously, the normal recovery timed for this type of procedure is about 6-9 months.
It looks like John Cena won’t be wrestling at WrestleMania 32; the first WrestleMania that John Cena will miss while being active on the main roster since WrestleMania 19. He may still appear at the event in a non-wrestling role.
