According to Mike Johnson over at PWInsider.com, the Dudley Boyz farewell segment on Monday’s WWE Raw was real and not part of any storyline. The word is they have officially departed WWE.

Originally, it was reported by PWInsider and others that Bubba Ray and D-Von Dudley signed new contracts, but some time in the past 7 days, the two sides amicably agreed to part ways as the contracts had not yet been officially executed.

The Dudley Boyz agreed to the segment on last night’s Raw in which they would be involved with the Shining Stars, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson. Having the Club take them out was simply to get them over as a unit and the number one heel tag team on the Raw roster. It’s being said that this segment also leaves the door open for a potential match down the line if the Dudley Boyz return.

Once returning backstage, the Dudleys received a standing ovation from all the guys and gals, producers and even Vince McMahon himself.

It’s unclear if the Dudleys are retired from wrestling in general, or will return to another promotion or work the independents. The two do own a wrestling school, so it’s likely they’ll return to that.
