In what was expected to be a very newsworthy week heading into the WWE Royal Rumble, word is coming from Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com that Austin Aries may be the next major name to be signing with WWE.
According to Johnson, Aries was in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania this week and could have been undergoing the mandatory WWE physical examination.
If you remember, Aries attended the NXT tapings late last year and was rumored to be appearing at those tapings, but never did.
Speculation has been heavy of Aries joining the WWE roster since he didn’t appear at the recent TNA tapings, where he has been a regular in recent years.
Earlier this month, Aries sent a cryptic tweet, shown below, with the word “PATIENCE” in Scrabble letters, which many wrestling fans thought could be an indication that Aries would be signing somewhere soon.
