PWP Nation’s Caden Moran details seven things we learned from Elimination Chamber 2019

The 2019 edition of Elimination Chamber is in the books, and in my opinion, I thought it was an incredible event.

Even though there were a couple of negatives, the show overall was a lot of fun to watch. We saw new champions crowned, history being made, and emotional investment we have not seen in a very long time.

The road to Wrestlemania went through Houston, Texas last night, and we learned quite a few things. Here are seven things we learned from Elimination Chamber 2019.

#7 – Nobody Cares About These Men

As I said, there were at least a couple of negatives throughout the night, and this was one of them.

It is not a surprise that Baron Corbin vs Braun Strowman was going to be an uninteresting match, but the final moments solidified it as one of the worst storylines in recent memory. We saw Drew McIntyre interfere, along with the now former Intercontinental Champion, Bobby Lashley. We saw the heel trio reform, even though nobody asked for it, and we saw them triple-powerbomb Strowman through two tables. Corbin picked up the win in the process.

The only thing we learned from this whole charade is that nobody cares about any of those four men. It is a shame considering Strowman and McIntyre should be bigger than what they currently are. As for Corbin and Lashley, they are just two big guys in the shuffle.

This was the lowest point of the entire show, and we can only hope that this storyline will not continue.

#6 – The Usos Are An All-Time Great Tag Team

In one of the biggest surprises of the night, The Usos defeated The Miz & Shane McMahon to become six time WWE Tag Team Champions. Considering the recent events surrounding Jimmy Uso, it is fair to say none of us saw this team winning last night.

The Usos claimed the gold for the sixth time in their career, and they have made their claim to being one of the greatest WWE tag teams of all time. I would argue they are right up there with The Hardy Boyz and The Dudley Boys. The statistics say it all for the twin brothers.

They consistently put on great matches and possess a great character presence. The Usos are hard, and they back it up in the ring. Now, with being six time WWE Tag Team Champions, The Usos continue to add to their resume and their legacy.

The Usos are an all-time great tag team, and they proved it last night.

#5 – Ruby Riott Deserves Better

I could not have been more wrong about how this match could have gone down. I expected the RAW Women’s Championship match between Ruby Riott and Ronda Rousey to be a longer match than what Rousey is used to. However, that was not the case. Ruby Riott, who is one of WWE’s best female talents in my opinion, was squashed just like anybody else Ronda Rousey faces.

I was irked by all of this because I believe Ruby is one of the very best, and she should be treated as the best. Instead, she was just another victim for “The Baddest Woman on the Planet“. Ruby Riott deserves better than what she has gotten.

I am not sure what the future holds for Ruby Riott, but hopefully she gets a real opportunity at the gold. She needs redemption after tapping out within minutes of the match starting.

#4 – Finn Balor Got What he Deserved

Finally. Finn Balor is a champion in WWE once again.

It may not be the Universal Championship, but Finn Balor managed to overcome the 2 on 1 odds to claim the Intercontinental Championship. Finn has been on a roll for the last few months, and after his performance against Brock Lesnar at the Royal Rumble event, the first ever Universal Champion deserved to have a true moment. He got exactly that last night.

Finn Balor is exactly what the Intercontinental Championship needs after being floated around from Seth Rollins to Dean Ambrose to Bobby Lashley. I have high expectations for Finn Balor, and I have no doubt he will prove to be a solid mid-card champion.

I hope to see Finn Balor on top of the mountain in the future, but for now, this will do.

#3 – Becky Lynch is Far From Perfect

The chaos between Ronda Rousey, Charlotte Flair, and Becky Lynch last night was fun to watch. However, Becky Lynch nearly slaughtered the champion with her brutal assault with the crutches. What Becky Lynch pulled last night was reckless, and it made me realize that “The Man” is far from perfect.

Granted, accidents happen in professional wrestling. But, Lynchs’ apparent lack of awareness and care towards the other women, especially Rousey, speaks volumes. If Becky Lynch is to be at the top of WWE, she needs to show that she cares.

Becky Lynch is sure to be repaid by Ronda Rousey for what happened last night, and I have no doubt this will just add onto the story already being told. However, Lynch needs to start acting more responsible and careful before everything she has built comes crashing down.

#2 – The Right Call Was Made

History was made last night when WWE crowned the first ever Women’s Tag Team Champions. After a hellacious Elimination Chamber match, Sasha Banks & Bayley were the ones to come out on top and hold the new, and beautiful, hardware.

This was the right call. Being a “history making” moment, it had to be a pair of lovable babyfaces to be put on top. There was a ton of emotion put in at the end, and we even heard Beth Phoenix on commentary tearing up .

It was a beautiful moment, and the right call was made with Banks & Bayley being crowned the first ever WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.

#1 – We Believe in Kofi Kingston

For the first time in a very long time, the entire WWE Universe in Houston, and all across social media, was united. We were all united and standing behind Kofi Kingston. Kofi made all of us believers last night in what could very well be the greatest Elimination Chamber match of all time.

The final moments between Kofi and Daniel Bryan will go down in history. Houston, Texas was electric while the fans on social media were all voicing the support for Kofi. There were moments where we believed Kofi Kingston was walking out WWE Champion. Even though Kingston failed to win the match, he did something not many people can say they did: unite us fans.

Emotional investment among all fans is rare in today’s age, but Kofi Kingston and Daniel Bryan managed to make it happen. Once Bryan defeated Kingston, everyone was silent. There were tears and pure silence throughout the arena. Kofi Kingston made us believe, and we believe Kofi Kingston will have his moment soon.

The final shot of the broadcast with Kingston standing at the top of the entrance ramp with his New Day brothers will go down in history. It was a much deserved moment, and winning the WWE Championship has to be in Kofi’s future. We believe in Kofi Kingston. Do you?

Elimination Chamber was a really good event all around, and the road to Wrestlemania continues to give us hope for April. I hope you enjoyed the show last night. I know I did.
