With the summer coming soon, there are several pieces of news regarding the WWE Women’s tournament.

According to PWInsider.com, the tournament up until the finals, will be filmed July 13th-14th at Full Sail University. The finals will be on Tuesday, August 29th, which will be promoted as a Network Special and will feature a total of 32 women.

Also, unlike the Cruiserweight Classic from last summer, the Women’s Tournament will be an VOD (video on demand) series, similar to how WWE releases episodes of Ride Along, Table For 3, etc.

While no names have been confirmed at this time, there have been reports that WWE has been interested in Jade and Marti Belle, formerly of Impact Wrestling. Also talents like Kimber Lee, Sarah Bridges (Mary Dobson), Kairi Hojo and Io Shirai are already under a WWE deal and are expected to be positioned as heavy favorites. Unlike the CWC, people will be positioned based on contract status.
