NXT STOLE THE SHOW!

the-revival-roadblock

I don’t know about you, but NXT and the NXT Alumni showed up tonight! The NXT matches were the best matches on the card. The Revival defeated Enzo Amore and Big Cass in an amazing NXT Tag Team Championship match that surpassed their NXT Takeover: London bout.

Just great tag team wrestling that outdid the WWE Tag Team Championship by leaps and bounds. Enzo Amore and Big Cass were close to winning the championship but The Revival proved to be the better team yet again after flooring Amore with a modified version of their finisher, Shatter Machine.

Charlotte and Natalya had an excellent match for the Divas Championship match that was just as good as their first match at the inaugural NXT Takeover. I love the fact that we were reminded of their previous encounter, instead of being forced to forget about it. We had a clear face and a heel here as the crowd knew who to get behind and who to boo. Everything in this match was perfect as Charlotte and Natalya put on a technical wrestling clinic.

There were several near falls as Natalya was close to winning her second Divas Championship. Natalya would put Charlotte in the Sharpshooter but Charlotte would have the mat sense to grab her father’s arms (which were under the ropes) to get Natalya to break the hold. Natalya would be distracted by this and would try to slap Ric Flair but would miss. Charlotte would take advantage, roll Natalya up and put her feet on the ropes for good measure to ensure the victory. Way to further get Charlotte over as a heel

Usually, when we see a really good match, the next match after is usually a buffer and not as good. Usually, the Divas Match is put in this slot. However, both the Divas Championship and NXT Tag Team Championship match followed each other very well as the crowd was into both. WWE should consider having the NXT roster do cameos like this a little more often.
