WWE NXT: March 28, 2018

Tonight’s airing was Episode 441 for the March 28th edition of NXT. Most of the show had had matches, and hype leading up to Takeover New Orleans. Now, lets take a look back at the action from Wednesday night.

Developments led to opening the show of Tomasso Chiampa entering the arena. He was met in conversation with William Regal regarding the Johnny Gargano situation. The ruling was decreed by Regal, and he said their will be an Unsanctioned Match between the two; as Gargano is not officially employed in storyline by WWE NXT. Gargano will win his job back if victorious at Takeover New Orleans, or be banned forever.

The announcement of the new NXT North American Championship was revealed, and will be unveiled officially at the PPV. However, this was met by the first televised debut (Since Philadelphia) of EC3. EC3 announced his goals and intentions during the in-ring promo with Regal. Regal then trumped this idea, and put EC3 in his debut match at Takeover. There will be a six-man ladder match pitting: EC3, Lars Sullivan, The Velveteen Dream, Adam Cole, Killian Dane and lastly the debuting Richocet.

In Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic developments, Olney Lorcan and Danny Birch was defeated last week by the advancing team of Roderick Strong and his mystery partner. Strong’s partner was revealed to be the UK Champion in Pete Dunne. Other action tonight led to the return, and strong win of Lars Sullivan who strongly and soundly defeated John Silver.

In this airing’s main event, Dunne and Roderick Strong defeated Sanity’s Eric Young and Alexander Wolfe to advance into the finals. Respectively and for the second year straight, Akam and Rozar; the Author’s of Pain were victorious versus Street Profits Angelo Dawson and Montez Ford.

In other scenario’s Shana Baszler got into a backstage altercation with her incumbent opponent, the NXT Women’s champion Amber Moon. Dakota Kai was scheduled for action, but match was interrupted and cancelled by the backstage brawl. The brawl is pitting NXT champion Andrade Cien Almas and his number-one challenger Aleister Black.

In closing, next weeks airings have direct implication for the weeks ahead. The finals of the Dusty Rhodes tournament, and Lars Sullivan versus Killian Dane in singles competition will occur April 4th 2018.
