WWE Elimination Chamber 2017 Results: New Champions Crowned, WrestleMania Feuds Set

The latest SmackDown LIVE exclusive pay-per-view WWE Elimination Chamber is in the books. The show took place at the Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix, AZ. At the event, the WWE Universe witnessed several new champions crowned and multiple WrestleMania matches set up for the big event.

Here are the full results:

In the main event, Bray Wyatt walked out of Phoenix as the new WWE World Champion. In the final moments, Wyatt reversed the “Phenomenal Forearm” from AJ Styles into a “Sister Abigail” for the pinfall and victory. John Cena was eliminated by Wyatt as well. The Miz was eliminated by Cena just minutes prior.

The first elimination was the “Lone Wolf,” Baron Corbin, as he was rolled up by Dean Ambrose. The “Lunatic Fringe” was eliminated after Corbin attacked the Intercontinental Champion, who was enraged about his elimination and was pinned by The Miz. The show went off the air with Wyatt in the ring celebrating, while Orton was seen at the top of the ramp, looking on.

Wyatt wasn’t the only one with new championship gold. In the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship match, Naomi pulled off a surprising victory over Alexa Bliss to win her first title with the company.

In singles competition, the 2017 Royal Rumble winner Randy Orton picked up a victory over Luke Harper in a solid matchup which fans were largely behind Orton.

Additionally, Natalya and Nikki Bella didn’t really have a conclusion to their match, as they fought to the outside for a double count-out. The two later brawled backstage, where Bella was accidentally thrown into Maryse who was backstage getting ready to come out later in the night with her husband, The Miz.

Earlier in the night, American Alpha retained their SmackDown LIVE Tag Team Championships in a tag team turmoil match, breaking the trend of other title matches throughout the night.

Also, Apollo Crews and Kalisto defeated Dolph Ziggler in a 2-on-1 handicap match, which began 1-on-1 due to Ziggler attacking Kalisto from behind before the match. But Kalisto would return and he and Crews would team up to win the match. After the match, Ziggler would attack both Kalisto and Crews, which led to Crews being laid out by Ziggler wrapping Crews’ leg around a steel cage and stomping down on it twice.

In the opening contest, former SmackDown LIVE Women’s Champion Becky Lynch defeated Mickie James with a rollup. Also, on the kickoff show, Mojo Rawley defeated Curt Hawkins.

After the event, many are beginning to piece together the WrestleMania 33 match card from the SmackDown LIVE side of things. Here’s what’s expected at this time:

  • WWE Championship: Bray Wyatt (c) vs. Randy Orton
  • Intercontinental Championship: Dean Ambrose (c) vs. Baron Corbin
  • AJ Styles vs. Shane McMahon (speculation)
  • John Cena & Nikki Bella vs. The Miz & Maryse

As for other matches or feuds, it’s unclear what else we’ll see from SmackDown LIVE in Orlando, Florida. PWP Nation will have updates, news and rumors throughout the Road to WrestleMania, so be sure to stay tuned.
