In the original plans, according to PWInsider.com, former WWE Intercontinental Champion Kevin Owens was suppose to be a key member of the League of Nations.
The reason for not placing Kevin Owens in the heel faction was because the night of their debut, Owens and his son were very ill with a sickness and Owens was sent home.
So the night of the their debut, the League of Nations debuted with the current group with Sheamus, WWE United States Champion Alberto Del Rio, Wade Barrett and Rusev. WWE apparently moved on from the idea, and decided to let Owens remain on his own for the time being.
