During his time speaking at the UFC Fight Night: Cejudo vs. Dillashaw post-fight press conference on Saturday night, UFC president Dana White alluded to Jessica Eye being the next challenger for Valentina Shevchenko and her UFC flyweight title.

While speaking about Joanne Calderwood’s victory from earlier in the night and his thoughts on Calderwood being a title contender, White stated “Lipski, coming off a nine-fight win streak, a world champion in another organization with tons of hype behind her, we put her in with a crafty, nasty veteran,” said White. “[Calderwood] came out and she looked awesome tonight… ‘Jojo’ looked incredible she fought the perfect fight.”

White was then asked if Calderwood’s performance was enough to grant her a shot at current champion Shevchenko, but White believes Eye would be actually be next to get a shot at Shevchenko’s title.

“Off the top of my head we said we were going to do a fight with Jessica Eye. I think Eye is next… yeah.”
