Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson Rises Five Spots In Latest Rankings

Following his decisive victory over Johny Hendricks at UFC Fight Night last Saturday, Stephen Thompson has risen five spots in the latest UFC Welterweight rankings, making him the #3 Welterweight contender in the world.

The victory has placed Thompson squarely in the conversation for a Championship opportunity against champion Robbie Lawler. Thompson currently holds a six-fight win streak, and five of his seven UFC victories have come via KO/TKO.

Hendricks falls to fifth after the loss to Thompson. In other rankings moves, Lawler fell two spots in the pound-for-pound rankings to No. 6, while Rafael dos Anjos moved up to fourth. Ronda Rousey once again finds herself off the pound-for-pound list after being replaced by Frankie Edgar.
