Edmond Tarverdyan, the main coach of Ronda Rousey appeared in front of California State Athletic Commission (CSAC) today to explain why he failed to disclose his past legal troubles when filing for a corner’s license in California, leading to his license being suspended. Tarverdyan has been suspended for a period of three months and fined him $5,000. He will be unable to corner Ronda Rousey, or any other fighters, during this period.
Edmond was arrested in 2010 for felony identity theft and a misdemeanor resisting arrest charge. While all charges were dropped to misdemeanors, and Tarverdyan pleaded no contest, he was still expected to disclose his woes when applying for a license, which he failed to do.
