PWP Nation Takes You Inside PWG “Time is a Flat Circle” at The Globe Theater in LA

Hosts Kelsi and Paul of the PWP Nation podcast Two Faced Wrestling Talk were able to attend the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla show “Time is a Flat Circle” (now available for pre-order on DVD/Blu-Ray). Apparently, this was the first PWG show that was held outside the city of Reseda in almost a decade. That is where PWG has long been associated with the small, intimate and extremely HOT venue: American Legion Hall #308.

Attending a show there has been described as “an experience you have to see to believe.” Tickets for PWG shows held there have consistently sold out very fast, usually mere minutes after being available for purchase.

PWG attributed this change in venue to a PayPal error, which the promotion claimed resulted in the overselling of tickets, thus necessitating a move to a bigger venue. Among speculation that this was no accident, they announced “Time is a Flat Circle” would be held at Globe Theater in Los Angeles. Some believed this was a test in disguise to see how running a bigger venue outside of Reseda would go.

Two Faced Wrestling Talk reported on site from The Globe to describe the event.

Two Faced Co-host Paul said, “The bartenders at the show…they must have never seen wrestling before or never seen it live before because they were grinning from ear to ear and looking at each other like kids at Disneyland.”

Kelsi adds, “In one of my pictures, the bartenders are in the background hugging each other. They are so excited, and I think that’s evidence of what PWG does to people. It makes them a fan, even if they’re not really a wrestling fan. How can you go to a PWG show or watch one on DVD and not love it? It’s so in your face…”

Speaking on the venue: “You talk about the environment, I think the new, bigger building didn’t lose anything in the environment department. The crowd was hot. You still had the seats right around the ring. It was just bigger. You had a balcony where people could look down…and you had air conditioning.”

To hear more about Paul and Kelsi’s experience at Time is a Flat Circle, you can listen to their latest podcast episode. In the same episode, they also describe what it was like to attend NJPW Strong Style Evolved live in Long Beach.

Recently, Pro Wresting Guerrilla has announced that they will say goodbye to Reseda, with only three more shows scheduled to take place at American Legion Hall.

If you want to feel the classic “PWG experience,” you only three chances left. Although it’s sad to see them move to a new locale, this change and step forward is evidence that Pro Wrestling Guerrilla is growing as a promotion and will continue to succeed and become bigger in the future. And hopefully, it will still keep that intimate charm that made it so popular in the first place.
