PWP Nation Staff Predictions: WWE Fastlane 2019

Some of the PWP Nation staff make their predictions for WWE Fastlane 2019!

The road to Wrestlemania makes the final stop tonight in Cleveland, Ohio with WWE Fastlane. On paper, the card looks solid and it should be a fun night of action. Some of us here at PWPNation.com are here to give you our personal predictions for tonight’s event.

Here who is making the picks:

  • Jay Alletto: Founder & Owner of PWPNation.com
  • Caden Moran: Featured Columnist & News Reporter
  • John “JCD” Dimiceli: Featured Columnist & News Reporter
  • Justin Bailey: MMA News Reporter

Now, let’s get to the picks!

Rey Mysterio vs Andrade (Kickoff match)

Jay: Rey Mysterio

Kickoff show! Huge match for this spot. Give me Rey Mysterio in a huge win to get the audience going.

Caden: Rey Mysterio via DQ

This feud will ultimately culminate at Wrestlemania. So, in order to keep it interesting, there should be a faulty finish that sets up a major match in April. I see Mysterio going over tonight, but I don’t expect it to be a clean finish.

John: Rey Mysterio via DQ

I see Rey picking up the win via disqualification. This will lead to a gimmick match at Wrestlemania.

Justin: Either way

We’ve seen these two have numerous matches or be part of multi-man matches with one another. I don’t care who wins at this point as something needs to be on the line if they continue to rematch one another. Possibly, we get a faulty finish and the final match of this series happens at Wrestlemania with a stipulation.

Black & Ricochet vs The Revival vs Roode & Gable (RAW Tag Team Championship match)

Jay: The Revival

Black & Ricochet are on a roll, but The Revival need to bring validation back to the Tag Team Championships. If I’m WWE, I also take the pressure off of Ricochet and Black by giving them their first loss, without being pinned. Gable & Roode should turn heel here & have a tag match against Black & Ricochet on RAW

Caden: The Revival

As much as I would like to see Black & Ricochet win the titles tonight, I see The Revival pulling out the win. I wouldn’t doubt that the NXT guys get a straight shot at the champions in the future. I expect Roode or Gable to take the pin to protect the NXT guys and keep The Revival as champions for a little while longer. Expect a fun match here.

John: The Revival

I expect The Revival to retain and face the team at Wrestlemania that doesn’t take the pin here.

Justin: Black & Ricochet

With the way WWE has been booking Black & Ricochet going over everyone, including the current champions, you would think they’ll keep it going and put the titles on them as well. I believe they will. With all of the recent callups, Black and Ricochet have been their most pushed talent.

Asuka vs Mandy Rose (Smackdown Women’s Championship match)

Jay: Asuka

They can’t do Asuka dirty here, can they? While I’m high on Mandy Rose as a women’s wrestler, I think a tag team with Sonya Deville would help that division a lot, and I don’t think she’s really ready for Asuka. Asuka wins here.

Caden: Asuka

I wouldn’t be shocked to see an upset here, but I see Asuka retaining. Like Justin said, they need to find a quality Wrestlemania opponent for Asuka before it’s too late.

John: Asuka

Asuka should retain quite easily. I could see the hints of Asuka’s Wrestlemania direction being revealed here.

Justin: Asuka

Asuka retains. SmackDown needs to do something to find a marketable match for Asuka for Wrestlemania.

The Boss N’ Hug Connection vs Nia Jax & Tamina (Women’s Tag Team Championship match)

Jay: The Boss N’ Hug Connection

Sasha & Bayley with the win here. There’s no way they have them drop the titles.

Caden: The Boss N’ Hug Connection

They just won the titles. Taking them off of the likable Banks and Bayley immediately would be a bad idea. I say the champions retain which will allow them to continue to establish the new titles.

John: The Boss N’ Hug Connection

Bayley and Sasha should retain as they are headed to a big Wrestlemania match.

Justin: The Boss N’ Hug Connection

Banks and Bayley just won the titles three weeks ago and WWE doesn’t need to shuffle the titles right out of the gate. Banks and Bayley need to hold onto the titles for a good while, while defending them on all brands to really build them up.

The Usos vs The Miz & Shane McMahon (Smackdown Tag Team Championship match)

Jay: The Usos

The Usos will win due to an implosion from The Miz and Shane McMahon.

Caden: The Usos

I agree with Justin, but the opposite. WWE appears to be all in with The Miz as a babyface, so I expect McMahon to turn heel tonight. Given the show is in Cleveland, Miz’ hometown, it would help give The Miz more babyface power and it would give Shane McMahon quality heel heat.

John: The Usos

The Uso’s should retain here and the expected Miz & Shane implosion happens.

Justin: The Usos

The Usos retain as The Miz turns on Shane to begin their Wrestlemania program.

The Shield vs Team Corbin

Jay: The Shield

The Shield wins here because there is a slim to none chance that Roman doesn’t go over with a clean as a whistle win in his first match back.

Caden: The Shield

Don’t count on a heel turn coming tonight. Considering this is Roman Reigns’ first match back since returning two weeks ago, I expect a united trio tonight. I’m going with The Shield because I believe they will keep them united for a little bit until a true implosion after Wrestlemania.

John: The Shield

The Shield wins. Not much more to say about it.

Justin: The Shield

This will be Roman Reigns’s first match back and with Rollins challenging Lesnar for the Universal Title at Wrestlemania. The Shield will go over with Reigns getting the fall. Reigns needs a dance partner for Wrestlemania as does Ambrose. Does that mean Ambrose turns on Reigns and Rollins again?

Charlotte Flair vs Becky Lynch (if Lynch wins, she’s in)

Jay: Becky Lynch

Becky needs to win to finally set this match at WrestleMania. This constant back and forth is an extremely over booked mess. Ronda Rousey is the saving grace in this entire thing, but it should clear up after Fast Lane.

Caden: Becky Lynch

Obviously, Becky Lynch will be at Wrestlemania. In order for her to do this, she needs to defeat Charlotte Flair at Fastlane. I feel like no further explanation is necessary.

John: Double DQ/No Contest

I could see Ronda appearing and laying out both women and then Becky being added on Monday.

Justin: Becky Lynch

We all know where this is headed with Lynch getting into the RAW Women’s Title match at Wrestlemania. To do so, Lynch needs to make Charlotte tap out and look strong heading into April. I’m sure Ronda appears at some point, but she shouldn’t be involved with the finish of the match.

Daniel Bryan vs Kevin Owens (WWE Championship match)

Jay: Daniel Bryan

Look, unfortunately for KO, I don’t see Bryan dropping the title at Fast Lane. Wouldn’t be surprised to see involvement from Rowan, Ali and possibly The New Day.

Caden: Daniel Bryan

I am excited to see Kevin Owens back and as a babyface, but he won’t be taking down Daniel Bryan tonight. Kofi Kingston is in for a great opportunity at Wrestlemania, presumably, so Bryan needs to remain champion until Kofi gets his shot. Kevin Owens needs to stay hot, however. So, it’ll be interesting to see what they do with Owens post-Fastlane.

John: Daniel Bryan

This is so hard to predict as there are many potential explosive elements. I expect Bryan to leave with the title. Between New Day, Kofi Kingston, Mustafa Ali and others, it’s impossible to predict an actual ending.

Justin: Daniel Bryan

Kofi Kingston is getting the slow burn buildup to be Bryan’s challenger at Mania, and there’s no reason to hotshot the title to Owens for the surprise factor. Bryan goes over, though Owens was rushed into the title match on his return and they need to keep him strong. That doesn’t mean to program him with Sami Zayn either!

WWE Fastlane 2019 is just hours way and is the final stop before Wrestlemania. It should be a fun show and we here at PWPNation.com are looking forward to it. We hope you are too.
