PWP Nation Interview – Beyond Wrestling’s “M1nute Men”

PWP’s Tim Bell sat down with Beyond Wrestling’s “M1nute Men” to discuss their futures, the “Tournament 4 Tomorrow” tournament and more.

Beyond Wrestling is running, “Tournament 4 Tomorrow,” a two night, two tournament event this month, November 28th & 29th from Fete Music in Providence, RI. With two nights, pitting both singles competitors and tag teams in four way matches within a tournament format, there are a lot of strategies and perspectives heading into this event.

As with past TFT events, Beyond is once again looking to the showcase as many of the up-and-coming talents as they possibly can, and have a stacked lineup with as much of the great young talent on the independent circuit as they can gather. And if 16 individuals and 16 tag teams competing to be considered the future of Beyond Wrestling isn’t enough, matches between Jonathan Gresham & Matt Tremont, as well as Chris Hero squaring off with Donovan Dijak headline what should be an amazing card.

Heading into this tournament, the Crusade For Change decided that they would use their numbers to their advantage, and despite Drew Cordeiro initially adding them to the team tournament, they have now spread out, with one member joining each first round matchup. Undoubtedly, Crusade For Change will have a massive impact on how TFT4 turns out, and I got a chance to chat with Devin Blaze & Tommy Trainwreck, the M1nute Men, on how they’re preparing for TFT4, their goals in Beyond Wrestling, and more:

Tim Bell: Crusade For Change chose to remove themselves from the Tag Team Tournament, and focus instead on the Singles Tournament. 4 Entries versus 2 makes sense, but with the winners of each singles block moving on to a fatal four way on Sunday night, any thoughts or concerns on potential friction if more than one CFC member advances to that final? If both M1nute Men make it to night 2, you’re only able to cooperate for so long before someone has to go for the win…”

MM: “Good question, the answer is simple. We have zero concerns of any friction between the crusade, going into TFT4 we all have the same goal and that is to establish the #Crusade4Change as the top tier talent in Beyond Wrestling, if one of us wins, we all win, simple as that. Also it’s a matter of when, not if, we make it to the finals of TFT4, but when we do there is no reason for us to work against each other & regardless of who gets the pinfall it will still be a monumental victory for the crusade.”

Tim Bell: “With 4 entrants in the Singles field, CFC certainly has the odds in their favor, and you’ve all stated that if one of you win, all of you win. Should one of you be victorious, what then becomes the goal for CFC in Beyond Wrestling? You’d certainly have quite a bit of power after a victory of that magnitude.”

MM: After winning TFT4 the goal is the same as it’s always been, saving beyond wrestling from itself. Drew Cordeiro sold out a long time ago & winning TFT4 would prove without a shadow of a doubt that Beyond Wrestling needs the crusade more than they even realize.”

Tim Bell: So even in combat, CFC plans to remain united. Now, while Darius Carter and TJ Marconi compete regularly in a singles capacity, most months at Beyond, we see the M1nute Men together, or not at all. Does your preparation change heading into TFT4 where you’ll be on your own in your respective matches?”

MM: “Absolutely not, we pride ourselves on being tag team specialist but that doesn’t mean we aren’t accomplished singles wrestlers as well, it’s just another day in the office as far as we’re concerned & victory is inevitable.”

Beyond Wrestling T4T
Beyond Wrestling is running, “Tournament 4 Tomorrow,” a two night, two tournament event this month, November 28th & 29th from Fete Music in Providence, RI

Tim Bell: “Fair enough. Switching gears, are there any tag teams from the past, either from your childhood or that you studied while you were getting started, that have been a major influence on you?”

MM: “Excellent question, many influences of the past make us the performers we are today. Breaking into the business, teams like the Briscoe Brothers, The Young Bucks and the SAT’s were a huge part of our style as a tag team. Probably the biggest influence on our careers has to be the Switch Blade Conspiracy of Sami Callihan & Jon Moxley, between their promo skills and history in CZW it’s hard not to be inspired by them.”

Tim Bell: “A couple general questions. What would you say has been the biggest moment of your careers to this point, either singularly, or together as a team?”

MM: “The first thing that comes to mind is winning the NWA On Fire tag team championships & holding them for almost a year. Working with the legendary Savoldi family helped us learn how to work for a TV company and helped us grow leaps and bounds as performers by being under their learning tree. As beneficial as that was hands down the biggest moment of our careers thus far has to be main eventing Beyond Wrestling’s “The Real Thing” in a war games steel cage match with our crusade for change brothers against the Beyond originals. Even though we lost the match, main eventing a Beyond Wrestling show is always something that will be a special moment in our eyes.”

Tim Bell: “Do you have a dream match/opponent you’d like to step inside the ring against?”

MM: “Besides the typical answer of the Young Bucks, it’s always been a dream of ours to work with the SAT’s.”

Tim Bell: “Any final thoughts you’d like to leave for the fans coming to Fete Music in Providence, RI for TFT4?”

MM: “November 28th & 29th without a doubt is going to be a monumental weekend for Beyond Wrestling & more importantly for the #Crusade4Change as we reach the pinnacle of Beyond Wrestling and solidify our names in the record books as the most dominant faction in independent wrestling period. Also make sure to like us on Facebook @ Facebook.com/them1nutemen and follow us on Twitter @m1nutemen but most importantly make sure you bring an extra twenty bucks and pick up a limited edition “Ultraviolent Villains” t-shirt available ONLY @ the C4C gimmick table! PWP Nation would like to thank the “M1nute Men” for a fantastic interview; good luck to them!
