William Ansor, better known as Nature Boy Buddy Landel in the 1980’s passed away earlier today at his home according to FW4Online.com.

Ansor reportedly was in a bad car accident over the weekend and checked himself out of hospital Sunday before being found dead in his bed by his wife today. He was 53.

In the mid-80’s Landel was set to win the NWA World Heavyweight Championship from Ric Flair, but his plane arrived late at the December 1985 TV taping in which the storyline was to begin. Buddy had a falling out with management and parted company with Crockett Promotions. In late 1995 and early 1996 Landel wrestled Bret Hart in a WWF Championship match televised on January 13, 1996. Landel made his Raw debut defeating Bob Holly.
