Where does Drew McIntyre go if he does NOT win Money in the Bank? I think a HEEL turn is something that could help reignite McIntyre. Not right away, but possibly heading into next year’s WrestleMania.

  • On the June 28, 2021 episode of WWE Monday Night RAW, Drew McIntyre qualified for the Money in the Bank Ladder match by defeating Matt Riddle and AJ Styles in a “Last Chance” Triple Threat match.
  • Drew McIntyre has recently suffered a series of losses before picking up this “Last Chance” win.
  • If McIntyre doesn’t win, he will essentially be out of the WWE Championship picture on RAW as long as Bobby Lashley is the WWE Champion.

Look, I get it. He wasn’t able to have his huge WWE Championship run in front of the live audience. And while that is unfortunate, it is an undeniable fact that the audience is starting to turn on the former champion. Simply take a scroll through Internet Wrestling Community (IWC) Twitter accounts reactions when searching Drew’s name.

Granted, there are MANY fans coming to this defense. He has been absolutely busting his ass and setting an extremely high example for the roster. In fact, he likely deserves a bit of a vacation soon, no?

It’s highly unlikely this will happen due to WWE’s reliant on drawing power as they continue to get set for a massive return to the road.

However, it goes without saying that the deck needs to be shuffled soon and a heel turn for McIntyre could set him back up as a potential challenger for who could potentially win Money in the Bank this year: BIG E!

Considering we are discussing Money in the Bank, I think a smart route to go would be booking a huge WWE Championship match at WrestleMania next year where Bobby Lashley defends against Big E.

It almost feels like they are setting the stage for it right now as Lashley is set to the defend the championship against Kofi Kingston at Money in the Bank.

Plus, we know that WWE would love NOTHING MORE than to tout that they have booked the first time ever two black men were in the main event of WrestleMania for the WWE Championship.

Even if they held this match at SummerSlam, it would still hold huge weight in WWE’s overall plan to continually deliver “First Time Ever” situations.

Either way, I digress. A fresh heel turn for Drew McIntyre could be something that reignites his current losing streak and allows a change in course of The Scottish Warrior…or has he calls himself, “Big D.”
