Last night on RAW, former WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens made his return to the ring.

Considering the circumstances, it is OK to give WWE a pass in lowering the bar for their weekly production of Monday Night RAW. Creative writing is not easy…in fact, it is quite difficult.

No offense to Owens, but this return seemed to be a bit uneventful to say the least.

Owens returned to host “The KO Show” w/ Zelina Vega, Andrade, Austin Theory & Angel Garza. This led to the return of Apollo Crews, which led to a tag team match where Owens & Crews faced Andrade & Garza.

For a wrestler the caliber of Kevin Owens who hasn’t been on TV since WrestleMania, this was lackluster.

But then again, what could they do with Owens creatively considering the current landscape of RAW? What’s next?

The closest realistic scenario in my mind is a feud with Andrade for the United States Championship. Owens has been down this road before, vying for and winning the United States Championship on 3 separate occasions.

Or maybe he can rekindle the feud he once had with AJ Styles in the near future? Sure, AJ is in the Intercontinental Championship tournament on Smackdown, but who knows what’s next for The Phenomenal One?

If it was my call, I would consider utilizing Owens in a brief NXT Championship feud with Adam Cole! The match would be fantastic, and it would give Cole a credible former NXT Champion challenger at the next Takeover event.

I mean, it was only late last year when Kevin Owens was beaten down by Undisputed Era on RAW. He got revenge a few weeks later at NXT Takeover: WarGames where KO sided with the babyface team to vanquish their rivals.

But wouldn’t a quick, legacy building match at NXT Takeover: In Your House for the NXT Championship be something to behold? I would be pumped up for it!

Kevin Owens should not be RAW’s version of The Miz. A wrestler his caliber is much more than being a viable championship contender that is stuck in the role of weekly show host. He’s a WORLD TITLE contender…always. Treat him as such!

For now, put him in a quick feud with Adam Cole on NXT & reignite their past. This would be entertaining for EVERYONE involved…and would be one hell of a match.

Let me know what you think! I love feedback. Does the idea suck? What would you do with Kevin Owens right now?
