JCD’s WrestleMania 36 Predictions

With WrestleMania soon coming to us, on behalf of PWP Nation, I have decided to give predictions for the show.

I am aware the show has already been taped, however I have not seen a single spoiler before making these predictions.

So with that said, here goes:

Otis vs. Dolph Ziggler with Mandy Rose at ringside. The Otis/Mandy/Dolph triangle comes to a head here. I also fully expect the person behind the “text” to be revealed. Dolph Ziggler defeats Otis after it is revealed that Tucker sent the text and turns on Otis.

Aleister Black vs. Lashley.

An old school random face vs random heel match from back in the day. Black wins a hard fought match.

Elias vs. King Corbin.
Another borderline random match put on this card. King Corbin wins.

Women’s Tag Titles:
Kabuki Warriors (c) vs. Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross
Another match that did a good job keeping its build despite the shutdown. The story was coming together nicely. The match should be good. I see Alexa and Cross finally regaining the titles here.

Smackdown Woman’s Title Fatal 5 Way:
Bayley (c) vs. Naomi vs. Tamina vs. Lacey Evans vs. Sasha Banks
Its elimination style which will tell the obvious story of Bayley relying on Sasha for most of the match. In the end, Bayley will double cross Sasha at some point, setting the seeds for the eventual 1 on 1 this summer. Bayley retains the title.

Raw Tag Team Titles:
Street Profits (c) vs. Angel Garza and Austin Theory
Randomly put together due to injuries to AOP and Viking Raiders. No reason why the Profits do not retain the titles here.

Intercontinental Championship:
Sami Zayn (c) vs. Daniel Bryan
This could easily be the match of the weekend if given time. I could also see this match opening one of the nights. I expect Zayn to retain after Drew Gulak turns on Daniel Bryan.

John Cena vs. The Fiend Bray Wyatt
This could be a boatload if fun with many different dynamics from the Fire Fly Fun House. In the end, I expect The Fiend to avenge the Wrestlemania 30 loss to Cena in a wacky fun match.

Boneyard Match:
AJ Styles vs. The Undertaker
Man I really want to pick Styles here…

However, Undertaker’s promo Monday mentioning the 3 makes me think at various points we will get all 3 versions of Undertaker at different points in the match. So with that said The Undertaker(s) defeat AJ Styles.

NXT Woman’s Championship:
Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Charlotte Flair
There may not be a harder match to predict on this card than this. The shutdown really killed the build for this match so now it just kind of feels there. With that said I predict Rhea Ripley to defeat Charlotte Flair to retain the NXT Woman’s Championship.

Seth Rollins vs. Kevin Owens
Here is your match that has had almost 6 months of build post Survivor Series. Through it all, it would seem Rollins has had the one up on KO. So because of that I’ll take Owens for the win here via stunner.

Raw Woman’s Championship:
Becky Lynch (c) vs. Shayna Baszler
It’s simple, it’s time for Becky to end. She has been coming off too arrogant, distracted, and almost taking Shayna too lightly. Shayna puts Becky out and wins the Raw Woman’s championship.

Universal Championship:
Goldberg (c) vs. Braun Strowman
I am writing this article BEFORE Smackdown airs, so I am not sure how they explain Roman Reigns being taken out of the match and replaced by Braun. Either way, I predict Braun Strowman defeats Goldberg to win the Universal Championship.

WWE Championship: Brock Lesnar (c) vs. Drew McIntyre
Man before the shut down WWE was building this match perfectly and I truly believe that would have continued.

I said it a few days before the Royal Rumble, I said it when he won the Rumble, and I’m still saying it, Drew McIntyre defeats Brock Lesnar to win the WWE Championship.

This isn’t a normal Wrestlemania. These aren’t normal times. But with that said, go into these two nights to try to enjoy yourself instead of nitpicking. There’s plenty of IWC wannabe “self serving prophets” that will do that. Take 7 hours over the two nights as a distraction from what’s going on. I know I am.
