Ilima-Lei Macfarlane To Defend Bellator Women’s Flyweight Title Against Veta Arteaga In Co-Main of MacDonald vs. Fitch Card

Bellator’s next trip to San Jose will now have two titles on the line come April 27.

According to MMAJunkie, Bellator women’s flyweight champion Ilima-Lei Macfarlane is scheduled to defend her title next when she meets Veta Arteaga in the co-main event of the promotion’s next trip to San Jose.

The event will presumable take place at HP Pavilion, slated to be headlined by Rory MacDonald vs. Jon Fitch. That bout will be for the welterweight title and also serve as a quarterfinal bout in the welterweight grand prix tournament.

Macfarlane (9-0) will make her third defense of the title after having won all eight of her Bellator bouts. Of those eight wins, six have came via submission. Macfarlane captured the title in November 2017 by defeating Emily Ducote, and has made two defenses since with victories over Alejandra Lara and Valerie Letourneau.

Arteaga (5-2) gets her shot at the title coming off back-to-back victories over Emily Ducote and Denise Kielholtz. Overall, Arteaga has won four of her six Bellator bouts.
