Fight Strength Podcast: Episode III with Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal

The Fight Strength Podcast is a weekly show hosted by Jason Burgos, Senior Editor for MMASucka.com, and Phil Daru, strength and conditioning coach for the prestigious MMA gym American Top Team. On this edition of the show–recorded on June 23rd–their guest was one of the faces of Bellator MMA. The former Strikeforce light heavyweight champion, Rizin Gran Prix tourney winner, and Bellator tournament winner, Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal.

Phil and Jason talked with the “King” on a plethora different topics. Conversation including such things as his biggest challenges while wrestling in college, early MMA influences, the trajectory of the sport over the next five years, politics, his favorite TV shows (yes Game of Thrones was one of them. Who doesn’t love that show?), and even what super-power he would have. Lawal–21-6 with a career that dates back to 2008–was as opinionated, honest, and funny as ever as he did not mince words when giving his thoughts on the wide range of topics covered.

Co-host Phil Daru also answered questions during the show’s “Ask Daru” segment. Questions from listeners for the strength training expert focused on plotting out conditioning circuits for professional and amateur fighters during a fight camp, and explosive workouts geared toward amateur wrestlers.
