Bruno Sammartino: The Time We Met Left a Lasting Impression

With the sad news of the passing of WWE Hall of Famer Bruno Sammartino at 82, numerous stories are pouring in about how a great of a person he was.

Luckily I was able to experience it first hand.

This is how amazing a guy Bruno was, when I met him at the San Genaro Feast in 2013, his people asked if I went to the Hall Of Fame and I told them I couldn’t because my wife was going to give birth at any time. (She did that Thursday)

When they told Bruno that, instead of the 1 picture and 1 autograph which I paid for, he took 5 pics and gave me 2 autographs, 1 for me and 1 for my son.

In the 2-3 minutes we interacted, he wished me the best for my baby and even in a true grandfather fashion, tickled my son and did “baby talk” to him, which got a smile.

Just an awesome awesome guy.

Bruno truly lived up to the title of Legend both in the ring and in life.

RIP
