PWInsider.com is confirming initial reports that WWE has released announcer Rich Brennan from the company.

According to earlier reports from ProWrestlingSheet.com, Brennan was apparently notified of his release sometime earlier today, though the exact reason for his release is not yet known at this time. Brennan debuted with WWE in 2014, working alongside Corey Graves as an announcer in NXT. He then became the lead announcer for SmackDown before being relegated to an interviewer position when Mauro Ranallo was hired by WWE to become SmackDown’s new lead announcer.

When we find out the reason for his release, we’ll be sure to update you.
