In response to growing media attention, WWE has issued a statement on behalf of Roman Reigns in light of new steroids accusations being connected to Richard Rodriguez and Wellness Fitness Nutrition.

Here’s the statement:

“I have never heard of Richard Rodriguez or Wellness Fitness Nutrition. I learned from the mistake I made nearly two years ago and paid the penalty for it. Since then, I’ve passed 11 tests as part of WWE’s independent drug testing program.”

Last February, Richard Rodriguez was arrested in a DEA raid and was accused of internationally operating a steroid distribution ring. Rodriguez is the former Iron Addicts Gym owner in Miami, FL and claims that Reigns is one of the many celebrities he sold steroids too.

Reigns was suspended by WWE in 2016 for violating the company’s Wellness policy. There still hasn’t been any confirmation on what Reigns was suspended for in 2016 and there have been several unconfirmed reports that it didn’t have anything to do with steroids, but rather Adderall.

Many believe this could effect Reigns’ booking going forward, but unless Rodriguez can provide proof, it is believed that WWE will continue with business as usual.
