It turns out that the newly crowned IWGP United States Champion Jon Moxley won’t be competing at the NJPW G1 Climax Dallas show due to his contract with All Elite Wrestling.

Dave Meltzer shedded some light on the situation:

“Jon Moxley’s deal is AEW has his rights in the United States,” Dave Meltzer said. “He’s free to work New Japan when it doesn’t conflict with AEW and he’s allowed to be in the G1, it’s fine but not US shows. AEW didn’t allow for that.”

Chris Jericho & Kenny Omega have similar deals where they can work NJPW shows in Japan, but aren’t prohibited to in the United States. As you may know, Kenny Omega hasn’t used that option yet, while Jericho has worked recently in Japan against Kazuchika Okada.
