This past Sunday at WWE Survivor Series, SmackDown LIVE commissioner Shane McMahon was taken out of the 5-on-5 elimination match early due to an injury he sustained in a spot involving Roman Reigns.

McMahon went up to the top rope to perform his infamous “coast-to-coast,” as Reigns was positioned on the opposite post on the other side of the ring. Reigns then sprung up and went for a spear, but sadly the timing was off and Shane was visibly hurt and was taken out of the match.

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com, Shane was reportedly very shaken up backstage and in a lot of pain. He was treated by the WWE medical staff at the Air Canada Center. But toward the end of the night, McMahon was seen backstage telling people that he was fine and it was nothing serious.

At this time, there is no word yet on if WWE will be putting Shane McMahon back in the ring in the near future. There are rumors of McMahon facing Brock Lesnar or Dean Ambrose at WrestleMania 33.
