In his latest piece, PWP Nation’s Caden Moran explains how the sympathy caused by the injury to Seth Rollins has completed his babyface turn

If you didn’t believe in him as a babyface before, you will now.

A little while back I wrote a piece expressing my opinion on the stale babyface run of The Man, Seth Rollins, and how I would fix it.

If you haven’t read it (which you should), I said WWE should make Seth Rollins the next anti-hero instead of the stereotypical babyface. Well, go ahead and throw that idea completely out the window because if you share the same feelings about Seth Rollins’ recent knee injury, you know that this injury is a blessing in disguise.

I have not believed in Seth Rollins as a babyface ever since he made the switch. He seems to bland, boring, and has not been the same Rollins we once knew. Now in fairness, he has lived a majority of his WWE career as an arrogant heel but I think we can all agree that we as fans had high hopes for Seth Rollins as a strong babyface. However, that has not been the case.

Until now.

Rollins has finally picked up some steam now that his feud with Triple H was taken off but due to a terrible injury, Seth is now on the shelf once again, but with good measure. Seth Rollins’ second knee injury is devastating news and feels like a bad dream not just for Seth, but for us as fans. As much as I hate saying this, the injury to Rollins was an unfortunate necessity.

This is a blessing in disguise as it gives Seth the chance to step back and take a breather. Ever since returning at the Extreme Rules event last spring, Seth has been a shell of his former self even with the stunning return and reaction he received. Even as a huge fan of “The Architect”, I just don’t feel so strongly about the guy as a babyface. I need a reason to truly believe in him as an electric babyface and I do believe his knee injury was the reason I needed. Not only does the injury give him a chance to take a step back and recharge, but it also provides us as fans a reason to feel more sympathetic for Seth. And with sympathy comes support.

Imagine walking down the street and you see a cute dog. Now imagine that dog getting kicked by a another person walking and then it gets run over by a car. Terrible image, right? But think about the sympathy you would feel for that dog. You would feel so emotional and would want the dog to survive. The same goes for Seth Rollins.

We all felt sympathy for Seth during his first knee injury where he had to vacate the WWE Championship, but now the sympathy just tripled, especially with the timing. As mentioned before, Rollins was finally entering the six month stalled feud with Triple H and the fans were 100% invested.

Now with the injury to Rollins and now with the possibility of him missing his second straight WrestleMania, I can guarantee you that is a strong argument that Seth Rollins can be the biggest babyface in the WWE once he returns. I never believed Seth as a babyface until I started thinking about this injury in-depth.

Once Rollins returns, he will undoubtedly be one of the biggest babyfaces due to the one major point of this entire article: the sympathy.

And if that doesn’t work for Seth, I don’t know what will.
