PWP’s Mike Roche believes that this “pipebomb” segment from Paige was just what this “Divas Revolution” needed to get better.

Last week on RAW, Paige stole the show, period. You want to talk about a Divas Revolution? The divas had the best segment on WWE’s flagship star studded three hour show and out-shined John Cena, Seth Rollins, The Dudleys, The New Day and everyone in between.

Let’s look at this segment:

First, you had one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time, Ric Flair come out to the ring. In all honesty, high definition is not kind to the Nature Boy, but I was a little surprised how in the beginning Ric started off making it all about him by talking about partying years ago and everything else, but I guess that’s just his shtick.

He then gave a great introduction to his daughter Charlotte, who came to the ring with her newly won WWE Divas Championship and being flanked by Becky Lynch and Paige. Charlotte goes into her speech, where god bless her for making reference to her & Ric crying every time they’re in a ring together… Man, if I had a nickel for every time I saw Ric Flair cry in a wrestling ring, I’d have a lot of freaking nickels.

Charlotte WWE

Now we get to the good part, as Charlotte is going through her speech, Paige snatches the microphone and cuts what may well be my favorite “wrestling” promo all year. She tore through the entire women’s division like asking where Nattie went, wondering if “Mrs. Hart”, as she put it, still worked here. Don’t forget about telling Becky she’s irrelevant and addressing the “real” reason the Nikki Bella and Brie Bella are on top, to belittling Lana and Summer Rae for fighting over men instead of wrestling, to ending it all by telling Charlotte the only reason she’s Divas champion is because of her dad.

This was just a masterful promo in all honesty. Funny thing is weeks before this, Mick Foley had made a statement on his Facebook, that’s become pretty infamous for, that the Divas Revolution needed a pipe bomb type segment. Well Mr. Foley… he got it. Now, I know some fans will want to compare this promo to the one AJ Lee cut on the Total Divas girls on RAW. Don’t get me wrong, both promos were very good, but I’m going to rank Paige’s on a higher level.

Let’s move on to the next best part of this segment: The Bella Twins.

The Bella Twins

So Paige leaves and outcome The Bellas and Alicia Fox. First off, credit to Nikki; she too cut a strong promo. I like that she addressed Paige and called her trashy then turned her attention to Charlotte. Nikki Bella was just a really great heel here and all this led to Brie Bella facing Charlotte.

This was a good match. I’ve always found Brie to be underrated as a female wrestler; she’s very good in the ring. I loved her working on Charlotte’s leg throughout the match, but if I had any problem with this match, I felt it was Charlotte didn’t sell the leg enough. There were points where Charlotte would stop selling her leg, even applying the figure eight and not exhibiting any pain to her own leg. Now, I’m not a wrestler (clearly) and this is not an attack on Charlotte because I think she’s a great athlete and she’s become really good, really fast, but I just wish she would have sold the leg more. That’s all.

So overall, I felt like this segment, lead by Paige really helped and elevated this “Divas Revolution.” Now, it’ll be interesting to see where this goes tonight on RAW, as we approach WWE Hell In A Cell in only a few weeks.

Thanks for reading, everyone.
