According to a report from PWInsider, John Cena will be the special referee for the Champion vs. Champion match between WWE Champion Jinder Mahal and WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar. The announcement could come as early as next week’s Raw.
Another report states the story would be that both Kurt Angle and Shane McMahon will not be able to agree on which shows referee should ref the match. Cena’s “free agent” status will make him the mutual choice to ref the match.
*Editor’s Note* – This is a logical scenario and could very well play into future plans for John Cena’s in-ring return to WWE.
