Hello fans, and welcome to the results and analysis of NXT Takeover: New Orleans. This event took place April 7th 2018, in New Orleans Louisiana. The action was a five-match card, and took place as follows.

Adam Cole defeated Velveteen Dream, EC3, Lars Sullivan, Killian Dane and newly debuting Ricochet in a six-man ladder match. Cole’s victory led to his winning of being the inaugural North American Champion. Cole would later team with Undisputed Era bretheren to regain the NXT Tag team titles in a triple-threat tag team match.

Cole and Kyle O’Reilly defeated Authors of Pain Akam and Rozar plus Roderick Storm with UK Champion Pete Dunne. Strong would turn on his now-former partner, and join the Undisputed Era, effectively turning heel in the process.

In other action, Shana Bazsler defeated Ember Moon to be crowned new NXT Women’s champion. Aleister Black defeated Andrade Cien Almas to win his first NXT Championship reign. This victory is also the first title earned in NXT of Black.

However, with Drew McIntyre (Galloway) appearing on the pre-show, be sure that Drew wants his revenge and his title back. How and when will he come back into the title hunt? Remains to be seen…

In the main event pitted Johnny Gargano in a Unsanctioned match versus former friend and tag team partner in DIY, Tommaso Ciampa. Gargano would defeat Ciampa and therefore, Johnny “Wrestling” wins his job back.

I am a writer, wrestling fan and author. I have worked as a consultant for three Indy regional promotions and having the honor to ply my trade there. In the interim, I write and publish books, which I have done since September 2012. In the meantime, I critique and analyze the best and worst of wrestling prime-time shows. (This will include some indy wrestling on occassion, but focusing mostly on the big prime-time events). In the future, you will see articles of RAW, Smackdown, NXT and Impact Wrestling. When there is a pay per view special (including Take-over's) you will find it here! I thank you all for your support and looking forward to your readings, and commentaries on my articles. I welcome all feedback and comments. Please just be respectful and articulate your concerns and opinions- and I in turn will bounce back dialogue and pick everyone's "brains" moving forward. But I plan to be compelling, analytical, thoughtful in my analysis and will do my best to "reach" and captivate you as well.
