The absence of Mauro Ranallo from Smackdown LIVE! has left a number of questions from fans around the world.

Earlier this week, Ranallo removed “WWE” from his official Twitter profile. The profile still lists Showtime Boxing as his employer, his podcast with former UFC Champion Bas Rutten & the fact that he’s a mental health advocate. The removal of WWE does not bode well for his relations with the company.

Ranallo has missed a number of Smackdown LIVE! shows while he has battled bipolar disorder & depression. Rumors quickly surfaced that Mauro was hurt emotionally by comments made by his broadcast partner, JBL, on WWE Network’s “Bring it to the Table” talking head show.

Ranallo also missed WrestleMania 33 weekend, which is alarming due to it being mandatory for all company employees.

WWE made the announcement on Smackdown LIVE! that he missed his first show due to weather. The following week, Ranallo missed the show again due to illness. There has been no mention of Mauro Ranallo on WWE TV since.

Ranallo also kept away from social media for a number of days due to the recommendation of his doctor.

Additinaly, Ranallo was removed from WWE’s list of social accounts that they maintain fo the convenience of their fans. There’s has yet to be an official announcement from WWE on Mauro’s current status.
