UFC Featherweight Champion Conor McGregor recently spoke to Sports Illustrated about the return of Ronda Rousey at UFC 207 on December 30, 2016. McGregor, who has also felt one major loss in his UFC career, gave words of encouragement to the former Women’s World Bantamweight Champion.

“I’d tell her to go shut them all up now,” said McGregor. “Shut them all up. Go and stake your claim again.”

Conor, who headlines UFC 205 in Madison Square Garden on November 12th against Eddie Alverez for the UFC Lightweight Championship, has largely criticized other UFC fighters in a variety of ways. When it comes to Rousey, McGregor has a completely different tone.

“I wish Ronda nothing but the best. It’s good to see her back. Some people take defeat and losses a certain way. You see how some fighters take losses. I’m happy she is ready to go again and I wish her well.”

Ronda Rousey hasn’t stepped inside The Octagon since her stunning loss to Holly Holm at UFC 193. This was the first blemish to her record, as she is now 13-1 in her professional MMA career. At UFC 207, Rousey looks to regain the Women’s World Bantamweight Championship in her return bout against current Octagon Queen Amanda Nunes.
