Chris Jericho Didn’t Ask for Vince McMahon’s Permission to Compete at Wrestle Kingdom 12

Chris Jericho recently appeared on Busted Open Radio on Sirius XM to dicuss his upcoming match with Kenny Omega at Wrestle Kingdom 12 in January. Jericho stated that he didn’t ask Vince McMahon for his permission to wrestle outside of WWE and says he told McMahon six weeks ago once the deal was finalized. Jericho also added that McMahon was apparently “super excited” for the match.

“I didn’t ask him for his permission, but I didn’t have to.”

“It’s not like it’s some kind of behind the scenes screw job. It’s taking a great opportunity and helping the business, helping Kenny Omega, helping New Japan. But guess what? It helps Chris Jericho, which in turn helps the WWE. So I think all of that stuff is stuff you take into consideration.”

“I had no contractual obligation, but it was respect.”
