As we all know by now, The Broken Hardys debuted in Ring of Honor this past Saturday night and defeated The Young Bucks for the ROH World Tag Team Championship. What wasn’t known was how they got to ROH and for how long they would be there.

Early Sunday, Dave Meltzer reported that The Hardys had indeed signed a long term deal, and it appeared that WWE was no longer an option due to creative control issues.

However, mid Monday afternoon, both Ryan Satin and Bryan Alvarez reported that the deal was instead of the short term variety. Also, on Tuesday, Mike Johnson appeared on The Taz Show, and basically also states that the deal was short term.

ROH President Joe Koff was interviewed by ESPN and he had this to say about The Hardys:

“It’s time based,” said Koff. “It’s something that they wanted, it’s something that we wanted and it just worked out perfectly. We’re very excited to have them. Obviously as you can see by the reaction, I think the fans are reacting to that very favorably … I think timing had a lot to do with this, as far as last night and being part of Ring of Honor for the next set of weeks or months, whatever it ends up being.”

As far as appearances go, it has been confirmed that The Hardys will appear on this weekends ROH 15th Anniversary PPV, the TV tapings that follow, and the Lakeland show WrestleMania weekend that will feature the rematch between The Hardys and The Young Bucks.

Nothing on the ROH side has been announced after that, and despite rumors saying otherwise, there has been no confirmation that The Hardys started taking indy bookings again past April.
