So as seen on this past Monday’s Raw, Matt Hardy finally dipped the deepest into his “Broken” state since returning to WWE. But how did this all come about after almost a year of legal tie ups?

According to a report from WON, it looks like some sort of deal was reached by Hardy and Anthem.

A report states from a source at Impact that some sort of deal was reached that will allow the Broken character to be used. It’s unclear if Hardy bought the IP or if some sort of deal was reached that would allow The Hardy’s to use the name and character while they are in WWE.

Also it’s unlikely that WWE would use it if Hardy had not taken full ownership.

Another report has surfaced that Hardy had taken ownership of the Broken trademark a few weeks ago, so that cleared the way for them to start to go forward with the gimmick.

As reported months ago, WWE has always been interested in doing the Broken gimmick but they were not going to enter negotiations to get the rights and Hardy would have to deal with legal process on his own. WWE would have been willing to do the gimmick once Hardy got full ownership and that is apparently the case.
