GFW released the following statement this morning:
“Global Force Wrestling has indefinitely suspended Alberto El Patron, effective immediately, until the investigation is resolved following a recent incident in Orlando, Florida.”
The suspension stems from the incident this past Sunday at an Orlando Airport. Patron’s girlfriend Paige went to twitter to claim that the incident involved a disresptful fan who threw a drink at Patron.
However on Monday audio of the fight was released (click here to listen) and it clearly shows a dispute between Patron and Paige.
GFW is in a rough spot here. Patron is their champion and is involved in a main event storyline that is taped through mid-August.
At this time there has been no further comment from Patron or Paige.
