“The more successful the villain, the more successful the picture.” – Alfred Hitchcock

All In is now proving to many that the popularity of the Bullet Club is larger than ever and let’s be honest, it’s mostly due in part to the cast of “Being the Elite.”

Cody, the Young Bucks, Kenny Omega, Marty Scurll, Adam Page & Flip Gordon have created something larger than life. They were able to intertwine ‘Kayfabe w/ Reality’ in a very goofy yet, amazingly unique way.
In doing so, the “Being the Elite” cast has sold out shows, sold out merchandise and have become draws for the Professional Wrestling business without any association from the WWE. That’s a pretty incredible feat.

However, come January, everything will change. Kenny Omega, the leader of the Bullet Club, is more than likely on his way out and heading to WWE. So, that leads to the question: Who becomes the new leader of Bullet Club?

While many believe that Cody is in line for the spot, I think a certain “Villain” will come out of no where to claim the throne as the leader of the hottest stable in Professional Wrestling.

Marty Scurll has become a fan favorite to many, but it wasn’t always that way.

Chapter 1: From Party Time to Dark Times

When Marty first arrived on the wrestling scene he was known as Party Marty Scurll. A gimmick in which, is pretty simple: he liked to party.

He was in a way, the Adam Rose before there was an Adam Rose.

In 2012, Marty was moving along and putting on great matches in Progress Wrestling and showed amazing potential to one day be a star. The gimmick however, started to run its course, as there was only so much you could do with it.

Marty decided to embrace his inner Villain…

A fantastic heel turn was made and the “Villain” was born. Marty finally won the Progress Wrestling Championship in 2015 from Will Osprey and defended the title against the likes of Chris Hero & Tommy End aka Kassius Ohno & Aleister Black.

Marty was making a name for himself in London, but it was time to make a move to the United States.

In 2016, he would debut in Ring of Honor.

ROH decided to have Marty debut on their 3-day tour in the United Kingdom, where he once again defeated Will Osprey, but this time it was to become the ROH World Television Champion.

Marty was becoming a star for the promotion, but it wasn’t until a certain umbrella shot to the head of Adam Cole that solidified him being a top guy in ROH.

Chapter 2: The Villain Leaves His Mark

Marty began appearing on “Being the Elite” as a guest star. The spots on the show started becoming more frequent, as the show was teasing that Marty was going to join the Bullet Club. Adam Cole’s time in ROH was coming to an end as he was in talks with WWE. With the help of the Young Bucks & Kenny Omega, Marty joined the Bullet Club as he replaced Adam Cole with an umbrella shot heard around the wrestling world.

Joining the Bullet Club catapulted Marty, but some believe it was also that moment that catapulted “Being the Elite” from just a goofy side project with the Young Bucks to a must-see internet sensation.

The rest of the story, I think everyone knows.

Bullet Club became massive once again and a huge part of that success comes from “Being the Elite.” On the show, Marty became an instant fan favorite with hilarious singing skills and running gags, but it was the chemistry of that group has that makes the show and the guys so well liked.

Fast forward to November of 2017 and Marty achieved his best accomplishment to date. He became the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion by defeating…you guessed it, his long-time rival, Will Osprey. In winning that title, Marty joined the likes of previous Bullet Club members to win that title in Kenny Omega and Prince Devitt aka Finn Balor.

That’s great company to be apart of.

Chapter 3: Civil War

We are almost caught up…

Following the amazing success for the Bullet Club in 2017, they began a Civil War like story within Bullet Club in 2018.

The spotlight has been almost solely focused on Cody vs Kenny Omega with the Young Bucks intertwined. Marty and the rest of the cast of “Being the Elite” have had their part in some way, but for the most part have been background noise.

In April, Marty wrestled Will Osprey in his first 5-star rated match at NJPW Genesis. In May, on the 5-Year Anniversary of the Bullet Club, Marty and the Young Bucks would win the Never Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Titles from the other half of the Bullet Club in Tama Tonga, Tanga Roa & Bad Luck Fale.

After the match, the 6 men along with other members of the Bullet Club, excluding Cody and Kenny Omega, all threw up a “Too Sweet” and agreed that they are together, and Cody and Kenny would settle their issues away from them.

Chapter 4: A Villainous Takeover?

Now, here we are and where do we go from here?

Coming up along with All In, we have part 4 of Kenny Omega vs Kazuchika Okada for IWGP World Heavyweight Championship in a 2 out of 3 Falls match at Dominion, Cody will be wrestling for NWA Championship at All In and then this leads us to Marty.

Marty, I think is in line for a ROH World Championship match at All In as well.

But what is intriguing to me, isn’t any of that.

It’s, what is going to happen when Kenny Omega’s contract expires, and he more than likely leaves for WWE? Who will become the new leader of the Bullet Club? Long story short, I personally think Marty will become the new leader of Bullet Club.

He has become a wrestler who has been so well received by many and praised for his mic work and great in-ring work as well. One those guys that loves Marty, Stone Cold Steve Austin.

That’s a pretty damn good person to have praise you.

So, if Kenny does in fact go to the WWE, do we see Marty then get fed up with Cody’s antics and kick him out to take over? Only time will tell, but I see this in my head…

Marty swings the umbrella to the head of Cody. Cody drops to his back with Marty stepping on Cody, raising his umbrella to declare his dominance as he laughs like only a “Villain” can.

Then the Bullet Club truly becomes the VILLAIN CLUB.

The “Villain” Marty Scurll is quite possibly the future of the Professional Wrestling Business. WOOP WOOP!
